> 20,000 m2 of durable protective coating systems on floors, walls and ceilings
Description
Gacon was commissioned by BC Gasthuiskwartier V.O.F. to apply durable protective coating systems to the floors, walls and ceilings of the basement.
The basement of the former Great Hospital has been given the function of a parking basement on layer -1 and bicycle storage with storerooms on layer -2.
The walls and ceilings covering more than 13,000 square meters were coated with the Sikagard-675 W ElastoColor system, a vapor permeable and concrete-protective coating system.
The parking basement with a surface area of more than 7,000 m2, which was provided with a new monolithic finished concrete floor, was provided with a 4-layer water vapor permeable coating system with anti-slip profile based on the Sikafloor-2540 W. After application of the base system, the parking spaces were applied using contrasting color areas, as well as the lines and figuration such as directional arrows.
The bicycle shed with storerooms (approx. 2,000 m2) was coated with a 3-layer water vapor permeable coating system based on Sikafloor-2540 W with a fine anti-slip profile. This anti-slip profile was achieved by mixing in SikaGrip in the last layer.
The ramp has a highly durable finish with a wear layer based on fast-curing PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) from Alsan Soprema.
About the Guest House Quarter
On the more than five-acre site of the former Groot ZiekenGasthuis, the Gasthuiskwartier is appearing. A special new city district, between the old city center and the Zuid-Willemsvaart canal. Gasthuiskwartier connects the city's past with the life of today. It will be a varied area. With imposing mansions, but also quiet streets and private courtyards. With a diversity of buildings with different heights, shapes and colors.
